WHO: Kern County Public Health Services is hosting a free community car seat safety check event with the following community partners: Bakersfield Breakfast Lions, Bakersfield Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Dignity Health, Hall Ambulance, and Kern Medical.
WHAT: Certified car seat technicians will check car seats for correct installation, proper size for child, proper restraint, and condition.
WHERE: The Friendship House, 2424 Cottonwood Road, Bakersfield, CA.
WHEN: Saturday, March 11th from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
WHY: Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 1 through 14 years old, killing over 1,000 children each year. Protect against this tragedy by properly securing your child in a vehicle. According to Safe Kids Worldwide, correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent.
