The Medical Waste Program implements the California Health and Safety Code, Sections 117800-118360, also known as the Medical Waste Management Act, within Kern County. It also oversees the registration and inspection of those medical waste generators required to hold a Kern County Environmental Health Permit. The Medical Waste Program also responds to and investigates complaints involving the improper treatment and/or disposal of medical waste.
