Proposed Modifications
The Kern County Public Works Department – owner/operator of the Tehachapi Sanitary Landfill – has submitted an application to amend the Report of Facility Information of hours of operations. Specifically, the Report of Facility Information has been amended to include updates to the Report of Disposal Site Information & report of Composting Site Information:
1. The hours of operation, waste types, ancillary facilities, salvaging activities, and equipment to clarify other landfill activities.
2. The updating of processes and equipment for handling, storage, and transportation. Incorporation of food material and vegetative food material handling.
LEA Determination
Kern County Environmental Health Division, acting as the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA), has approved the report of Facility Information Amendment. The LEA has also determined that the RFI Amendment does not require modification or revision to the Solid Waste Facility Permit. The LEA accepted the original application on September 24, 2018.
