As a mobile vendor, your role is important to the health of our community. Given our high numbers of obesity and chronic disease and that, Americans consume more than half of their meals outside of the home; you can help us make a difference!
Kern County has the highest rate of death from diabetes and fourth highest rate of death from heart disease in California. We would like to collaborate with you to create a healthier food environment for our community. As part of our efforts, you will have access to our Public Health Nutritionist to help with developing healthier menu options and to make easy product placement changes; additionally, we will help with marketing these health-promoting efforts. As a local mobile vendor, you have prime access to the population we are trying to reach and you can help combat chronic disease in Kern County.
